This is part 3 from Matt & Mel’s gorgeous Cathedral Oaks wedding in Belton, TX. I love being a Dallas wedding photographer, but I have to admit, my favorite part of the state is the hill country and the Austin area, so I always love having the opportunity to work down there. If you haven’t seen them already, be sure to check out their Cathedral Oaks wedding ceremony. I was completely blown away by the vintage inspired details they put into their wedding. From the rustic hand-painted signs scattered throughout the property for the ceremony and reception, to the rustic wood buckets with flowers in mason jars with stained glass candleholders, and the burlap covered tables with birdhouses… everything was put together beautifully. I have to admit, my favorite details were the painted wood signs and the vintage signs for the cake table and the burlap Mr. and Mrs. signs at their table.
Gorgeous flowers were provided by Sweet Sunday Events out of Georgetown. Let me tell ya, if you’re looking for some of Austin’s best floral designers, Sweet Sunday Events is the place to go! Their vintage bridal bouquet was one of my favorites– really, it was simply stunning!
The bride’s dress was designed by Essence of Australia (through Melange Bridal store in Austin) and I fell in love with it the first time I saw it, back in May when we shot Melanie’s bridals around the Belton and Salado area. This was the first champagne toned wedding gown I’ve shot, and it was absolutely perfect for the vintage feel Melanie planned for the wedding.
One of my favorite details for the decor was the wedding cake table. It was fabulous! The cake itself was made by Dulce Vida Cakes & Pastries, and the cream cheese based frosting looked perfect in it’s surroundings on the table (plus, it was mighty tasty!)

I loved this idea with using painted birdhouses for the centerpieces, surrounded by mason jars next to framed photos of Mel and Matt! Super cute!

I loved the burlap Mr and Mrs chair signs! Super cute!

I loved their cake table details! The burlap sign hung with mini clothespins looked amazing, and their cake topper was perfect for the look of their wedding. Simply stunning!

The reception stayed lively, thanks to the music provided by the Roland Schaub Band. At one point in the evening, Matt, Melanie’s dad, and Melanie’s brother-in-law all joined the band to belt out a song for the guests too!

I love shooting weddings and getting the surprise of seeing former clients in attendance. We shot senior photos for the girl in the right photo (Kasey). It was great to bump into her and hear how she was doing after her first year at A&M!
